Our Lady of Lourdes Newsletter – 7th December 2018
Over this last week, the school and parents were treated to a wonderful sequence of class productions to celebrate the season of Advent. Each of the class productions took a very different take on the traditional Christmas story with amazing results. A huge thank you from all to the teachers and children for their hard work and splendid productions.
CMAT Page on School Website
Please do monitor this area of the school website for any future information concerning the CMAT progress. Where appropriate, we will use Parent mail, but my analysis of Parent mail shows that not all school postings are being taken up by parents.
On Line Payments System
We are pleased to announce the implementation of our new online payments system for parents. The system is called Tucasi and parents will be invited to register using a unique reference number issued by the school office. We will be rolling out this new programme year group by year group over the next few months, as each new trip becomes available. When you have received your unique reference number you simply log onto the Tucasi website, register and set up your account, once this is in place you will be able to pay for school trips and music tuition online without having to send in cheques or cash via the class teacher.
You can access the on-line payment from the main school website – please use the following link
Year 5 Theatre Trip

Children School Christmas Lunch (Reminder Item)
On Wednesday 12th December 2018, the children will be served Christmas lunch by the staff. Please can I ask parents to return their flyers asap indicating their child’s preference from the menu. We need his information so that everyone can have their choice of meal.
The annual Christmas Carol Concert at Our Lady of Lourdes RC Catholic Church will be held on December 16th, starting at 7.30pm. Please come along and support the school choir. We will be joined by St Joseph’s Convent School.
On Wednesday 12th December the children are invited to wear a Christmas jumper / top with their school uniform. We are supporting the Save the Children appeal "Make it better, wear a sweater." Save the Children work tirelessly around the world to help less fortunate children and this campaign is a great chance to discuss with your child how fortunate they are, especially at this time of year. We ask that the children bring in £1 to support this charity.
Christian Kitchen (Carry over item)
During Advent we will be collecting for the Christian Kitchen. Please donate tins of food and dried foodstuffs such as pasta and rice. Also men's hats, scarfs and gloves would be appreciated.
We will also be supporting The Brentwood Catholic Children's Society. A small collection box will be sent home for your small change. Please return by Monday 17th December.
Please be advised that this is our last newsletter of the term. We start the new school year on January 7th 2019.
Have a very Holy Christmas with all wishes of prosperity in the New Year.
