Statutory closure of schools

20 March 2020

19th March 2020

Dear Parents/Carers,

Re: Statutory closure of schools

As part of the government’s move to the ‘delay’ phase of combatting the spread of the virus, all schools and educational establishments have received instruction from the Department for Education to close from this Friday afternoon - Friday 20th March.  Whilst we fully appreciate the huge disruption and upheaval this government decision may cause, all schools have a duty to comply with this directive.

Following government directions, we will make provision to remain open for the children of key workers and any vulnerable families from Monday 23rd March. The government has released their guidance, see the link below. If you believe that you work in a sector that qualifies you as a key worker, and therefore require school provision, please email the school immediately.

At any time during this closure, if you need to contact the school please continue to do so through our school email, which is monitored daily:

Regular updates from the school will continue to be sent via ParentMail during this time, as well as under the ‘Latest News’ on our school website:

A designated page on our school website has been set up containing the learning overviews, this is entitled ‘Home Learning Resources’.

DfE Helpline:

A reminder that The Department for Education have a helpline to answer questions about COVID -19 related to education. Staff and parents can contact the helpline as follows:

Phone: 0800 046 8687
Opening hours: 8am to 6pm (Monday to Friday)

We thank you for your understanding and support at this incredibly difficult time.

Kindest Regards,

Edward Cottle
